OBDeleven credits (you’ll also see them written OBD11 credits) are the in-app currency that pays for One-Click Apps, the ready-made changes like a needle sweep, auto-lock or a different cluster display. The web store sells 10 credits for €1.99, 100 for €17.99 and 500 for €74.99. You don’t need a paid plan to use them. The app stopped giving free credits in 2022; the only way to earn them now is OBDeleven’s referral programme. On a VW-group car most apps cost 1 to 10 credits. On a BMW the two I bought cost 50 each. Reading fault codes and live data never costs credits.
I’ve bought 110 credits across my 2021 Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI and my 2020 BMW X5 for TheCarLane’s OBDeleven tests, both in India. I spent 100 of them, and one activation failed. Every price on this page was checked in September 2026.
How Much Do OBDeleven Credits Cost?
| Pack | Web store | Per credit | India, in the app (what I paid) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 credits | €1.99 | €0.20 | ₹399 |
| 100 credits | €17.99 | €0.18 | ₹2,999 |
| 500 credits | €74.99 | €0.15 | ₹9,900 |
The store bills in euros, so the 100-pack is roughly £16 or $19.50 at September 2026 rates, and your card does the conversion.
The India column is the trap. ₹2,999 for 100 credits is about ₹1,300 more than the same pack on the web store. I paid it because I bought in the app before I looked at the store. I think the difference is Apple’s or Google’s cut on in-app purchases plus GST; OBDeleven doesn’t explain it. Whatever the reason, buy the code from the store and redeem it in your OBDeleven dashboard. I’ll update this page when I’ve bought a pack that way myself.

Two other routes exist. In the US, ECS Tuning and Turner Motorsport sell a 200-credit scratch card for $34.99, which is $0.175 a credit, the best price below the 500-pack. In the UK, Halfords sells the OBDeleven 3 for £74.99 and the PRO Pack with 100 credits for £119.99, and B&Q sells the device with 200 credits for £99.99. Those are bundles for people who don’t own the device yet. I couldn’t find credits sold on their own in pounds, so the store is the UK route too.
How Many Credits Do You Need?
Your brand decides this more than the number of apps.
VW, Audi, Skoda, SEAT and Cupra. The app lists 35 One-Click Apps for my India-spec Rapid, 20 under Workshop and 15 under Adjustment, priced from 1 to 10 credits each. The needle sweep is 10. So the three changes most people make first, a needle sweep, auto-lock and a lighting tweak, come to 30 credits at most, under a third of a 100-pack. Buy the 100 and it will last you years.

BMW. The dashboard apps on my X5 run from 10 to 100 credits, and every powertrain app is 50. One 100-pack bought me exactly two changes, the M View Style Cluster and Sport+ Mode. Plan on 50 a feature. Four features a year is 200 credits, or two 100-packs. Past about 16 apps a year, the ULTIMATE plan works out cheaper; the maths is in the OBDeleven plans guide.

The revert rule. Activating an app costs credits. Reverting it costs the same credits again; that’s OBDeleven’s policy, not a bug. A feature you try and don’t like costs you double. When you see 50, think 100 if there’s any chance you’ll change your mind.
How Do OBDeleven Credits Work?
Buy a pack in the app and the credits land in your balance at once. Buy from the web store and OBDeleven emails you a code. Log into your OBDeleven dashboard, enter the code, and the credits appear in the app the next time you open it.
Credits belong to your account, not to the device or the car. One account works on every supported car you connect, so I use the same balance on the Rapid and the X5.
When you activate an app, the app deducts the credits and marks that app as Used on that car. The change itself is written to the car’s control module, so it stays after you unplug.
One date to watch: a code from the store is valid for one year from purchase. Redeem it when it arrives. Once redeemed, the credits don’t expire, which is the next section.
Do You Need a Plan to Use Credits?
No. OBDeleven’s support pages say it plainly: One-Click Apps run on credits alone, with no paid plan. Plans and credits are separate systems.
The PRO plan includes no credits. It buys manual coding and adaptations on VW-group cars, and nothing else. If you buy PRO expecting the apps, every app still costs credits.
The ULTIMATE plan includes apps, but the terms cap it at 10,000 credits’ worth per 12 months. For one owner that’s effectively unlimited; it’s still a number.
If you’re deciding between PRO and ULTIMATE, the OBDeleven plans guide covers the whole decision. This page is about credits, so I’ll leave it there.
Credits or PRO: Which One Is for You?
Credits pay per app. PRO pays once a year for manual coding.
| Credits | PRO | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | €17.99 for 100; a VW-group app costs 1 to 10 | €59.99 a year, no credits included |
| What you get | The change made for you, one tap | Long coding and adaptations you make by hand |
| Cars | Apps on every supported brand | VW-group cars only |
| Risk | None; a failed app returns the credits | Yours; there’s no manual, and a wrong adaptation puts a car in a garage |
Buy credits if you want three or four changes and don’t want to learn coding. Buy PRO if you’ll make many changes, or want a setting no app offers, and you’ll back up the module before you touch it.
On a BMW there is no choice. OBDeleven has no manual coding for BMW, so it’s credits or ULTIMATE.
Do OBDeleven Credits Expire?
Credits in your account don’t expire as long as the account stays active. That’s OBDeleven’s own support answer.
Codes do. A credit code bought from the store or on a reseller card is valid for one year from the purchase date. If you redeem it inside the year, the credits it becomes are yours for good.
Refunds follow the same split. Unused credits can be refunded within 30 days of purchase; once you’ve spent any of them, they can’t. Credits earned through the referral programme don’t expire either.
When an App Fails, You Keep the Credits
The app listed a Gauge Test needle sweep for my Rapid at 10 credits. I selected ON, tapped Activate, and got “Function not available”. I tried again with the engine running and got the same message. The 10 credits stayed in my balance, and they’re still there.

So a failed activation costs nothing, which is fair. But it also means a listed app is a promise the car may not keep, especially on a market-specific model like an India-built Rapid. Before you buy any pack, open the app, find your exact car and read its list, and check the country coverage on OBDeleven’s supported vehicles page. If your first app is a cheap one, buy the 10-pack, activate it, and buy the 100 once you’ve seen it work.
How to Get Free Credits on OBDeleven
You can’t get them the old way. Until 1 July 2022 the app gave you one credit a day for opening it and five for watching ads. OBDeleven removed both, and confirmed the change on its forum. Any video or post promising daily free credits is describing an app that no longer exists.
The one free route left is the referral programme. Share your referral link; when a friend uses it for a qualifying purchase, such as the device or a PRO or ULTIMATE Pack, they get 10% off and you get 200 credits. The credits arrive 30 days after their purchase, once the money-back window has passed, and they don’t expire.
There are no promo codes for free credits. Discount codes cut the price of plans and Packs, mostly around Black Friday; check the code’s terms before you assume it covers a credit pack.
Where to Buy OBDeleven Credits
For most people, the web store: the lowest price per credit unless you’re in the US, euro billing, and a code by email that you redeem in the dashboard.
In the app only if you need them in the next five minutes and your in-app price matches the store. In India it doesn’t, and I paid for that.
The US reseller card and the UK bundles are in the price section above.
Buy the pack your brand needs: a 100-pack on a VW-group car lasts years; on a BMW it’s two features.
Buy credits at OBDeleven.comAs an OBDeleven affiliate, TheCarLane earns from qualifying purchases.
If you haven’t bought the device yet, the OBDeleven 3 review covers what it does on two cars and what it costs delivered.

No, while your account is active. The code you redeem them from does expire, one year after purchase.
No. Once an app is active it stays active, unless a dealer software update resets the module; owners have reported having to reapply changes after one. You pay again only if you revert it, and the revert costs the same credits as the activation.
Yes. Credits sit on your account, so they work on any supported car you connect with the same device. What each car can do still depends on its brand and your country.
